Middle Ages - Task One - 100+ words due by October 1st, 10:00 p.m.

When Were the Middle Ages? Your first task for this class is to determine when exactly the middle ages occurred (if you can)! You will need to write a 100 word paragraph that details the timeframe for the middle ages. Your post should include beginning and ending dates for this period of history, as well as the names of some of the most famous people you would like to study about during our unit. Be sure to tell me about any other topics you would like to cover in our unit. Some examples of topics we could cover include: King Arthur and the Knights of the round table...did they really exist; the Barbarians and who they were; the Vikings; The Black Death; Marco Polo; William Tell; daily life in Medieval Europe, etc. Have fun thinking about this interesting period of history. I can't wait to see your blog responses.

When did the middle ages really begin? My research says it began in 338 when St. Monica was born and ended in 1453 when the Hundred Years War was over. I think it would be very interesting to learn about King Arthur and his knights. Some people think they didn’t really exist. I want to learn the truth! I also want to learn about what a day was like for the average person in the middle ages. What kinds of games did they play? What kind of clothes did they wear? Did they go to school? If so, what was it like? Did they have to go to church, and if so, what kind of church? I also think it would be interesting to know what it was like to live in a castle. I really want to know where they went to the bathroom, because I’m pretty sure they didn’t have indoor plumbing back then.

When did the middle ages begin?
My research says that it began in 406 when the western empire began and ended. It ended in 1492 when the Reconquista started.

I’d like to learn about Joan of Arc. So far what I now about Joan of Arc is that her father often told about how the French were struggling in war. Joan of arc began to feel sympathetic so she went out to help them, despite her family’s pleading‘s not to go. I was also wanting to now about King Author. I now he was a king and all but I want to now more about him, like is it true about the whole Excalibur thing, and did he pull it from a stone. http://www.themiddleages.net/people/joan_of_arc.html. I would like to find out what they used for armor in the early ages. I would also like to now if Merlin was real and why it was called Knights of the Round Table.

When did the middle age really begin? My research says it began 600 CE and ended in 1050 CE. I really want to know what the women did all day I fond out that they wake up and get dressed in their dirty clothes and the go out and feed the geese in front of their little house and then they work all day. I also want to know what they wore when they were not battling. I found out that if you were a child of a peasant you would wear whatever you got. Their clothes were really scratchy. If you were a princess, queen, or a king you would wear silk robes. Is it true that a girl under the age of ten can get married to a man that is 50 or 60? I found that the women were the gate to the devil in the medieval ages.

When did the middle ages begin? I found a source that say they began in 337-338 when St. Monica was born. It ended in 1453 when Constantinople fell. I am really interested in learning about King Arthur and Dante. I would also like to know more about the Barbarians and Marco Polo. I think it would be neat to see China the way he did. If we could learn about the castles and how they were built, the weapons used to break down the walls, and bathroom spots, that would be cool too. I hope we learn how to build our own siege weapons like catapults and stuff. Also, why did they feel the need to steal things instead of borrowing or buying them?

When did the Middle Ages really began in and end in? My research says it began in 500 A.D. when Darius became King of Persia (now Iran) and ended when King Ferdinand was King of Spain. I want to learn about King Arthur, the round table, the knights, and Dante because they all sound really interesting to learn about. I would also like to learn about castles, where people went to the bathroom, the siege weapons, and about the wars they fought. Oh and also about the Black Death. I also have some questions. How and where did they play games? Did they even play games? What games did they play? I think that’s all my questions. But I think I have one more question. When did they start traveling? But I do think I should research all those questions at home.

When did the middle ages begin? My research tells me the Middle Ages began in the year 406 with Visigoths and other Barbarians invaded Gaul. The middle ages ended in 1492 when Henery the 7 was crowned king of England. I would like to learn about King Arthur. What school was like in the middle ages if they even had school? What a castle was like. How did you become a knight in the middle Ages? I would like to learn about the Black Death? About Jousting and the rules? About the peasants and what there life was like. I would also like to learn about Kings and Queens. I would like to learn about the life of a prisoner in a castle. This is some stuff I would like to learn more about

When did the middle ages begin? My knowledge tells me that middle ages began in 146 B.C. and ended in 1462. I don’t know why it began and I don’t know why it ended. Maybe I’ll find out as we study about it. I’d like to know who King Arthur and the knights at the round table were. Are they real or not? I’d like to know more about the Black Death, how did it start and how did it stop? What where the steps to be a knight? Who were the Barbarians and the Vikings, what did they do? Why did they Joust, was it some celebration or a tournament? These are all things I would like to study in our unit.

When did they end? I think they ended in 1453 when the fall of Constantinople in the end of the Hundred Years War.
I want to learn about how people became knights in the later time of the middle ages.
I also want to learn about how it was like living in a castle.
I would also like to know if they any had any big celebrations or big parties in the Middle Ages.
It would also be fun to learn about how people then got their clothes…if they had no stores in their community!

When did the Middle Ages begin? According to the book Everyday Life in the Middle Ages, they began in 476 AD when half of the Roman Empire ceased to exist. They ended when Rome fell in 1453, and Constantinople was defeated. I would love to learn more about the castles and how they were built. I would also like to know how Joan of Arc became the first woman soldier. Didn’t the men refuse to fight for her? How did she win freedom for France from England? Also, what did the kids do during the middle ages? Did they play games, and if so, what were they? Did they know how to read and write, or didn’t they have to go to school? Where did they go to the bathroom in a castle? Who had to clean it up? Where did they put the waste? Why did the peasants have to be the first to go to war? Who were the knights and how did you become one?

When did the Middle Ages begin?
I think the middle ages began in 338 A.D. when St. Monica, Mother of Augustine was born. I think that the Middle Ages ended in 1485 A.D when Henry the 8th was crowned king after defeating and killing Richard the 3rd at the battle of Bosworth Field. Some famous people from the Middle Ages I would like to learn about are Marco Polo, William Tell, King Arthur, Joan of Arc, Henry the 3rd, and St. Monica.
I really wonder how these people became so famous?
Where did all these people in the Middle Ages go to the bathroom? Did they have schools? If they didn’t have schools what did they do all day? Did they just do work? Who were the Vikings and Barbarians? What was the Black Death all about? What did the normal everyday house look like? Did they have pets? Did it cost money to have a house? What did there money look like? Did someone make it? I really would like to know the answers to these questions.
