Tell me about your favorite book. Why is it your favorite book? What happens? What's your favorite part? What makes it your favorite book? Try to write at least 75 words. Of course you can always write more! Blog On!

My favorite book is a children’s book called Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. It is the story of a woman and her son, and how no matter what he does as he is growing up, she loves him anyway. I like the story because it is about unconditional love, and that is how I feel about my children. We may disagree, we may fight, we may not be able to see the other person’s point of view sometimes, but we always love each other. In the story, the woman takes care of her son, carries him in her arms (even when he is a bigger boy) and sings this song to him:

I’ll love you forever,
I’ll like you for always,
As long as I’m living
My baby you’ll be.

I used to sing this song to my son Walker when he was not quite two years old. I would read the book to him at night before he went to bed. He could say all of the lines by heart before he was three! We made up our own tune to the words, and he can still sing it to me.

The ending of the book was very touching, too. As the mother is sick and dying, the son picks her up in his arms, rocks her back and forth and sings to her:

I’ll love you forever,
I’ll like you for always,
As long as I’m living
My mommie you’ll be.

Read it to your little brother or sister if you have one. It’s a great book!
